I Timothy 2:1-3 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live.
First thing, without a second thought, we must pray! Pray for our family and friends, pray for our church, pray for our leaders. This is our command to pray! Why is it hard to pray? I believe you have to have a personal relationship with Jesus, a burning desire in your heart for Him, before you can pray with a passion. As we grow in His word and get to know Him as our Lord and Savior, then we will begin to hunger to spend time with Him in prayer. It will be a natural part of us just to come to Him praising and singing songs. Thanking Him for all He has done for us! Where would we be without Him, I for one do not even want to think about that!
