Luke 2 (The Message)

The Birth of Jesus

1-5. About that time Caesar Augustus ordered a census to be taken throughout the Empire. This was the first census when Quirinius was governor of Syria. Everyone had to travel to his own ancestral hometown to be accounted for. So Joseph went from the Galilean town of Nazareth up to Bethlehem in Judah, David's town, for the census. As a descendant of David, he had to go there. He went with Mary, his fiancée, who was pregnant.
6-7. While they were there, the time came for her to give birth. She gave birth to a son, her firstborn. She wrapped him in a blanket and laid him in a manger, because there was no room in the hotel.

As we get closer to the most important day that ever happened, I pray that Jesus truly is the reason for the season. So many people are out there trying to have something that will fill that empty place in their hearts. Buying and having, more and more; never an end to it. Things will never fill that part of them that was meant for Jesus. I am saddened at the time that is wasted, time that we cannot recover. Time that we need to be telling people that Jesus is coming again, not as a baby, but as our Savior, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. It is our job to spread this Good News. Please be safe and keep your heart close to His!
