2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (New Living Translation)
3. For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4.The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
A stronghold is anything that exalts itself in our minds, pretending to be bigger or more powerful than our God. It steals our focus and causes us to feel overpowered, controlled, and mastered. Strongholds keep us from living out the plans that our Heavenly Father has for us! In the scripture above we find our minds being attacked, and the war we are engaged in has to be fought with the Word of God in prayer, faith, hope and love. How did Jesus deal with Satan when He was being tempted? The Word of God of course, and it is the same for us. In these evil days we live in, fear and hopelessness are causing people to commit crimes and do things they would never imagine doing. We must remember strongholds are just lies from the enemy, and they can be broken. We have to know what Gods Word tells us, if there was ever a time to study and search out the scriptures, it is now. I am not an alarmist by any means, but this world is not going to get any better. All these things have to happen! Jesus is coming soon, but until He does we are in a war with evil. God has made every provision for us to be victorious in this battle, if we know the battle plan. I have read the last of the Book, and I know who wins, we do. Please be encouraged as you break every stronghold that would keep you in bondage. I pray for you right now as you read this, fear, bitterness, unforgiveness anything the enemy would hold over you, in the name of Jesus, be broken, be set free. Amen.
