Depending on God!

Psalm 33:20 (The Message)

20-22. We're depending on God;
he's everything we need.
What's more, our hearts brim with joy
since we've taken for our own his holy name.
Love us, God, with all you've got—
that's what we're depending on.

Yes, this is exactly what we are doing! Depending on God! There is no other way! If there is anything a Christian should learn as he or she gets wiser and older in the Lord, is that we cannot do this alone, we are nothing without Christ. Yet with Him, all things are possible and In Him we are complete! I love this scripture, David had learned this the hard way, but he always turned to God. Oh yes there are times when we see him complaining bitterly and asking God just to kill those folks! (its hard not to grin over that), but the point is he knew to look to the Only One who could deliver him. I am pretty sure you are faced with some sort of trial today, but I want to assure you, you are not alone. Just as we are trusting God in every area of our life, you must do the same. We must look to Him for the directions for the journey that we are on, and never waver. Keep our focus on Him, He will see us through this. I pray you will have a blessed day, sweet friend! God loves You and Me!

House of Prayer!

Isaiah 56:6 (The Message)

6-8"And as for the outsiders who now follow me,
working for me, loving my name,
and wanting to be my servants—
All who keep Sabbath and don't defile it,
holding fast to my covenant—
I'll bring them to my holy mountain
and give them joy in my house of prayer.
They'll be welcome to worship the same as the 'insiders,'
to bring burnt offerings and sacrifices to my altar.
Oh yes, my house of worship
will be known as a house of prayer for all people."
The Decree of the Master, God himself,
who gathers in the exiles of Israel:
"I will gather others also,
gather them in with those already gathered."

The house of prayer and God will be there! I just love this scripture, I also love going to Church. I don't know about you, but when God told us to "assemble ourselves together", there must have been a good reason why. This is where we are taught about our Lord and where we are strengthened. If anyone is sick then we are told the elders of the Church will anoint with oil and pray the prayer of faith, and we would be healed. This is also brothers and sisters praying for each other not only on Sundays, but all through the week. This scripture also says that He would give us "joy". As you enter the House of God this morning, you are truly blessed and privileged. Enjoy this special day!

Full of Joy!

Philippians 4:4,5 (New Living Translation)

4. Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! 5. Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon.

What does this mean to you to be “full of joy” and how in the world can we be in the times we live in? As I was researching the word “Joy”, I was amazed at how many times it was used. Just two examples: in Luke 15:7, there is joy in heaven over lost sinners who repent. Then in James 1:2 “Dear brothers and sisters, when trouble comes your way consider it an opportunity for great joy”. Ok this last one makes us backup for a moment, notice he is talking to the “brothers and sisters” (Christians) ,then in this translation it says “great joy”, now it is really confusing! How can this be possible? Trouble usually means panic, or at least fear! So we have the same word “joy” used in two different ways, or is it? Seems as though, “joy” is used interchangeably with “spiritual peace”. This truly means it is possible to experience joy in the most trying, painful times in our lives. When we have the Spirit of the Living God inside us, joy is just one of the many blessings that is given to us. We are promised His unfailing love, and He will never leave or forsake us! Rejoice, Jesus is coming soon, we must never lose sight of yet another wonderful promise!
