Philippians 3:12-14 (The Message)
12-14 I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back.
Sounds like Paul had his mind and heart made up doesn't it? He was committed to following Christ and had no plans of turning back! He knew what his goal was and he was going after it. I have heard of people turning their back on God and going the worlds way, and every time, I am thinking "to what", what are they going back to, it didn't work the first time, why would anyone try it again.
I will be the first to tell you living a life for Christ is not easy, but living for the things of the world was not easy either. Either way, life is hard! But for me to have peace in my heart and to know that Jesus is Lord of my life-I can tell you, there is no way and no reason to turn back. The enemy of our souls will try to convince us of all kinds of things, but it is all a lie. Every trick he uses only ends in death. I know I have a long way to go to, like Paul, I don't have it all together, but you know what, I am on my way. I know in who I believe, and I am convinced in His love and mercy for me. I choose to follow Christ, I have a goal to, and I am off and running! There is nothing to turn back to!
