Daniel 6:10-12 (New International Version)

Bible study was so good today! We are in our fifth week of Daniel, by Beth Moore! If you have never heard her teach, then you are truly missing out on a blessing. The first 5 chapters show an amazing man of God, living in a place that was not his choice, yet choosing to let God use him for His glory. Do you realize Daniel was 80 years old when he was put in the lions den? 66 years had passed since the first chapter, as he lived in captivity all this time. Kings had changed, but he was still living in Babylon. How is that he maintained his integrity? I believed Daniel did a lot of praying, as a matter of fact, three times daily he prayed to God. I also believe when this crisis came into his life that he would be thrown in the lions den if he was found praying, that he did not waver in his faith one iota. There are three things we will do when faced with a crisis, we will panic and do something stupid, or we are just paralyzed and do nothing, or we can hit the floor praying. This touches our Heavenly Father when we come to Him. There is so much to be learned in this study! If you haven't thought much about Daniel in a while, I suggest you do a little background on him. This is not a little kids story that we learned years ago, this is a real story, with real hungry lions. Be blessed as you read of this mans commitment to God!
10 Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before. 11 Then these men went as a group and found Daniel praying and asking God for help
