1Peter 4:12,13 (New International Version)
12. Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. 13. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.
Don't be Surprised! But we always are aren't we? I know I am! Seems like we are always dealing with something these days that makes us insecure. I believe that life as we always knew it, is over with. We are dealing with a totally different world, particularly in the United States. The old dreams and hopes that people had for security in our jobs and retirement, all the plans that was normal have been taken away from us. I also believe God wants us to be secure, but He has to come first in our hearts and plans. People my age have worked hard all their life to be "set up", this was the American dream. Get an education, get married, have children, raise them, send them to college, get ready for grandchildren, and then get ready to set back in that rocking chair and watch the world go by! Well, it did happen for some in the past. Now we live in a new, uncertain era. Things are happening fast and we (the Christians) know what is going on. I just want you to be encouraged and keep looking to Jesus. He said He would take care of our needs, He would never leave us or forsake us, nothing could ever separate us from His love; I could go on and on, but you get the picture. God loves you, and He will not let you down. I don't know what we are going to go through, but I know God is going through it with us. Bless you today!
