Ephesians 4:29-32
29Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. 30And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. 32Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Gods Word has much to say about showing love and being kind to each other. When we are visiting with someone, even if it is in the grocery store, we can be encouraging. This scripture states speaking “only what is helpful for building others up according to “their” needs”. Do we really listen to what people are saying? I know there have been times, if I am in a hurry, I don’t do this, and it does grieve the Holy Spirit. There will be times when we are the ones needing that word from our Father God, what if they are to busy? Being kind and compassionate should be natural for us. It is Gods will we love each other, remembering to not hold grudges and unforgiveness in our hearts. Our words should always be to bless and comfort someone. Words can also hurt and wound, sometimes there are no second chances to make them right. So as we begin this week, I pray for you and me to, that whenever we our and about, to be aware of the folks we come in contact with. To someone hurting, a word from the Lord can literally be a life saver. Please take time to listen and speak words of life and peace on their lives!
