Trust, Delight and Commit!

Psalm 37:3-5 (NIV)

3. Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

4. Delight yourself in the LORD
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

5. Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:

6. He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.


If it is your hearts desire is to know the Lord more than you ever have before, then this is a wonderful scripture to begin with. Trust is the first one, and this one was hard for me, I believed God and His Word, but trust was something I had some problems with. Why is it hard to trust God? Maybe we have been hurt by someone in our past and this is why. Whatever the reason, when we begin to read Gods Word, we are assured on every page that we can trust Him! There will be things we will all question, we will never understand all that happens to us or our loved ones. But we can still trust Him, if it wasn't possible, this one of many scriptures wouldn't tell us to "trust" Him. "Commit" maybe also be difficult, we just want to fix things ourselves don't we? That to we learn, we can't do, just give it all to Jesus and let Him fix it in His time. I want to put "Delight" last because this is what happens when we trust and commit. We do delight in Him, we love Him, He has promised us He will never leave or forsake us. He loves us with a love that we can't comprehend! Praise God for leading and guiding us in His Word. As you practice this in your everyday Christian life, you will begin to grow in His knowledge. Please take time to read and pray, you can rest assured, He has plans and a future for you.
