Blessings for the New Year!

Isaiah 61:1 (NIV)

The Year of the LORD’s Favor
1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me,
because the LORD has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners
Each of us has a calling on our life to take the Gospel to the lost, to proclaim freedom to those who will listen. A responsibility that should not be taken lightly. As a matter of fact, I don't think anything should be taken lightly any more. You talk about living in the last days, its here folks. There is not time to be unfocused. We must be committed and have our minds made up. A sold out heart for God! I have to tell you, I don't know how an unsaved person can even watch the news! There is no hope out there! Yesterday I heard that gas will go up to 5.00 a gallon! Well that is scary, isn't it? For us, we are thinking of other ways to cut back to be able to afford it. Life as we have known it has changed! Life will never be the same! I also heard a fella say it was only a cycle, that he had seen this in his 70 something years here on earth. And I would agree with him except that I believe we are living in the last days. I truly believe Jesus is coming back soon. So, as we begin this New Year, I won't be making resolutions, without God, they won't last anyway. But, I am going to be more serious about the things of God, more receptive to the needs of people around me, and stay in the Word more. I don't know about you, but I need my mind renewed daily, I need my heart changed to become more like Him. More sold out and committed to the truth.
I don't know what this year will bring, I just know that as long as I trust and believe what God's Word says, then I will not have to fear and I won't have to live under a cloud of stress and anxiety.
Let's hold each other up in prayer and really care about each other. In the body of Christ, if one of us hurts, we should all feel it. By the same token, we will rejoice over the good things to.
I am praying for you as you read this the old blessing.

Numbers 6:24 (New Living Translation)

 ‘May the Lord bless you
      and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you
      and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you his favor
      and give you his peace.’.

Thank you for visiting my blog and for all the encouragement you give to me. I know many of you have prayed for me and my sister this year. I wish I could tell you how much that means to me. God Bless you richly! And thank you for letting me be a part of your life.

I have said this to others & must tell you as well, but I thank God for the richness of blessing me in 2010 with blogging buddies like you. I SO enjoy your posts & the grace God provides through what you say. I especially love above "I don't know what this year will bring, I just know that as long as I trust and believe what God's Word says, then I will not have to fear and I won't have to live under a cloud of stress and anxiety." Amen, my friend. I look forward to growing in His grace with you & all our blogging buddies in the coming year & see the impact HE makes through us! Hugs ~ Merana

Hi Shirley,

As I read your post, I thought about the uncertainty of the future and the hope of Christ within us who through faith, trust in Him.

I think that for us, there is an expectation, and with it there is that joy and hope. I remind myself that God knows what He's doing, as a way of remembering that I walk by faith and not by my sight.

Like you, I want to read more of His word, and to willingly be available when He opens the door of opportunity to share His love and grace.

Sending you and family the joy and anticipation of a favorable new year.

Blessings and peace.

Well said. May we be surrendered to be the body of Christ He has called us to be in this day and every day. God bless you and Happy New Year!
