Psalm 119:33 (The Message)
33-40 God, teach me lessons for living
so I can stay the course.
Give me insight so I can do what you tell me—
my whole life one long, obedient response.
Guide me down the road of your commandments;
I love traveling this freeway!
Give me a bent for your words of wisdom,
and not for piling up loot.
Divert my eyes from toys and trinkets,
invigorate me on the pilgrim way.
Affirm your promises to me—
promises made to all who fear you.
Deflect the harsh words of my critics—
but what you say is always so good.
See how hungry I am for your counsel;
preserve my life through your righteous ways!
If we are really serious about our relationship with God, then this should be our daily prayer. In this scripture this is truly our lesson for living a Christian life. I hear so many "formulas" for the way we should live and what it comes down to is just being obedient. And if we know what the Word of God tells us, then we know what we have to do. It is not about rules and regulations, but simple truths in love. Please read the scripture again and make this a prayer from your heart. Since it is so complete, my post will be short this week! Thank you for stopping by and leaving your sweet comments!
Be blessed this week and check out Spiritual Sundays. (the link follows)

thanks for this Shirley.....hope your weekend is the best.
That is a good prayer. Daily I pray for God's guidance and directions. I am fearful of making mistakes in my life but even if I do, I know God will help me make it right. Can't wait to see what God has in store for me right now in my life. It's going to be sooooo Good!
Hello Shirley, such a good post today..a reminder of who we are in Christ, He is our sheperd and if we are to recognize His voice we must stay in His word...
A great scriptural prayer! I love the Psalms, especially this translation. Happy Spiritual Sunday!
This is a perfect prayer!
God Bless,
Ginger
A great Psalm to build our life on. I think the reason the Psalms always speaks to the heart is that David was so human. And in his humanness gives me the permission to take my humanness mixed with my deep desire to be a woman after God's own heart and present it to the Shepherd.
Thanks for sharing. This prayer says it all.
Blessings,
Annette
Amen to this scripture/prayer, Shirley. Thank you for sharing it.
