The Plans I Had!

Proverbs 16:1-3 (The Message)

Everything with a Place and a Purpose
1 Mortals make elaborate plans, but God has the last word.

2 Humans are satisfied with whatever looks good;
God probes for what is good.

3 Put God in charge of your work,
then what you've planned will take place.

Well, here is what I am looking at! Rain and cold, only 39 this morning. I think our weather guy has missed it for a few days now. Oh well, we can't change the weather, but I had all these plans! Like working in my shop,  (I have some florals to design) if our yard is not mowed soon, then goats will be the next thing on the list. I love working in my flower beds and we have so many of them that now I feel like I am getting behind! Is this the time to say "Woe is Me"? Maybe not that bad, but you know how it feels when our plans are thwarted? So what have I accomplished these past few days? Actually several things, my closets are clean and organized, windows and mirrors windexed, laundry caught up and my floors are clean. And, all these things needed to be done.  You know sometimes we just have to stop and do a little evaluating. When things don't work out like we want them to, we really should not get discouraged. You see God loves us so much, He is always there to guide us, give us patience and show us what the most important things are. Yes, all these things were important  to do, but they will be there when it is time. I believe for a Christian there is a time and a purpose for everything in our lives. And if He really causes everything to work together for our good, then we must realize those small things are included to. So as for this day, I am not going to get in a hurry to do anything, in fact being curled up on the sofa with two little poodles so close I can't move, the fireplace going and a cup of hot tea, I am perfectly content. lol. Just finishing my bible study for the day has given me hope and a purpose. Thank you sweet friends for stopping by, I pray your days is pleasant and filled with blessings.

(I am linking up with Spiritual Sundays, please check them out, you will be inspired.)

Sounds like God has blessed your days greatly. 39 degrees sounds pretty good to me. We're already having temps in the 90s. The picture is so pretty. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Blessings,
Charlotte

Shirley - sounds like you have had a very cozy day. Our temps were cool earlier in the week, but it's 82 now (at 8:00 in the evening). I love the spring, but not the heat of summer.

I so agree with you, there is a purpose for everything in our lives and often our plans don't go like we think they should. But we can rest assured that God's ways are so much better.

Blessings,
Joan

I love how the Holy Spirit moves through Spiritual Sundays. I very often see a pattern in what people write... I know it's God speaking to us in a very real and poignant way. Praise Him!

I'm with everyone here...ah, early spring! Cold one day, warm (teaser!) the next. But the view from your window is lovely.

Love the comments: 1. Mortals make elaborate plans, but God has the last word. (wanna see God laugh? Make those plans on your own!); 2. Humans are satisfied with whatever looks good;God probes for what is good. (AMEN!); 3. Put God in charge of your work, then what you've planned will take place. (AMEN again!)

Thanks so much for sharing. So glad to follow you. You always inspire me! Hugs ~ Merana

WE had terrible storms and tornado warnings on Thursday. Then yesterday the sun was so bright it hurt your eyes. What a huge difference, but the Lord is faithful through it all.

Hi Shirley,

Love the beautiful view of the blooming trees from your window. Thank you for the thoughtful reminder that, "...there is a time and a purpose for everything in our lives...if He really causes everything to work together for our good, then we must realize those small things are included to."

Blessings and peace.

Love your picture. And your attitude. Rain happens and God knew you needed the rest that only comes from rain hitting the roof while a warm fireplace and hot tea are enjoyed inside.

Blessings on you, Shirley,
Pamela

It sounds like you have the perfect day planned and the view of the flowers and the flowering trees in the background males me long for spring even more (written from dreary Wisconsin)

Stopping in from Spiritual Sundays and following. Isn't it great that God has a plan for us. . . even if we don't understand it or his ways of getting us there. We know it's what's best for us. Thanks for the post. You have a lovely blog.
