He Keeps us on Track!

1Corinthians 1:7-9 (The Message)

7-9.Just think—you don't need a thing, you've got it all! All God's gifts are right in front of you as you wait expectantly for our Master Jesus to arrive on the scene for the Finale. And not only that, but God himself is right alongside to keep you steady and on track until things are all wrapped up by Jesus. God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares with us the life of his Son and our Master Jesus. He will never give up on you. Never forget that.

If you are concerned or worried (which we are not supposed to do) about all the things going on around you and in the world, you would not be alone! Everyone (Christians and non) has the same opinion that something has to give! We are being bombarded with evil, such horrible and detestable things that cannot even be repeated. We may ask "Where is God" or "why is this happening"! Remember it is not wrong to ask God questions, it is not that we doubt He is in control, we are just trying to understand. This is also where we must walk by faith and not by sight. God is in control and as this scripture tells us, He is right beside us to keep us steady and on track. I know the secular news is terrifying and causes fear, but we must stay focused. As we see things happening around us, we know this is part of Gods plan for this world. Judgement comes sooner or later to a nation that turns its back on God, BUT the Church, Gods people, will stand and will be victorious no matter what it looks like. Lets pray for each other and believe that God will bring us through, just like He said!

Fasting and Weight Lost!

Acts 13:2,3 (The Message)

One day as they were worshiping God—they were also fasting as they waited for guidance—the Holy Spirit spoke: "Take Barnabas and Saul and commission them for the work I have called them to do."

3.So they commissioned them. In that circle of intensity and obedience, of fasting and praying, they laid hands on their heads and sent them off.

Various methods of fasting:

1.Total fasting; no food or liquid, Jesus miraculously did this for 40 days by the Spirit.

2.Juice fasting; a liquid diet of fruit, vegetable, and other healthful juices is sustainable.

3.Daniel fasting; only fruits and vegetables, no meat or delicacies.

4.Reduced number of daily meals; as the early Church broke their fast in the afternoon.

Are you amazed sometimes how God directs our paths? I want to share with you just such an experience. I needed to lose some weight and I did not want to do the measuring and counting calories. And to tell you the truth, I was somewhat disheartened. I had been praying so when I came to one of my blogger sisters and began to read about her success, I knew in my heart this was for me. I was so excited and started that very day! (there are 3 links on the sidebar) I knew that fasting without praying is simply starvation, but this was different. Fasting 2 meals (of course with prayer and reading the Word) and then having a window of time from 5 pm to 10 pm, I could eat with my husband and enjoy my dinner without all the guilt. (On the sidebar is a link that will take you to the website that explains the concept) This is not harmful to your metabolism or to your body, it gives your body time to use the stored fat, (all the facts are listed) The science is behind it, so I was ready. I can truthfully tell you that I have not been weak, or head achy or even hungry. What is even more of a blessing is that hubby is also on board, and it is working for him. (he is a preacher so he already had the spiritual part going for him) Food can become way to important, and this is just another part of our flesh that has to be brought in subjection. If you get a chance and you feel the Lord leading you this way, please do some research and make up your own mind about it. On my other blog "My Weight Lost Journey" I will keep you updated. (The link is also on the sidebar). Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and we need to practice a healthy lifestyle.( As most of you know I had polio as a child, excess weight is horrible for me). In closing notice what #4 states above, "The early church broke their fast in the afternoon." Be blessed and walk in His ways!

Blessed Are!

Matthew 5:3-12 (New International Version)

3."Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4.Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
5.Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
6.Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
7.Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
8.Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.
9.Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called sons of God.
10.Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11."Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12.Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

We are truly blessed, aren't we? Every time I read this passage I am always amazed at how much God loves us and what He has done for us. So much love and so much sacrifice on His part. When He created us, He already knew what would happen and had a plan in progress. As we reminisce about this year, and plan for the next year, lets not forget that if we let God be in control of our lives, then we are truly blessed and we can lay claim of these wonderful promises. God Bless you richly today on this Lords Day, enjoy your day in Church and remember to be thankful! Be sure and check out "Spiritual Sunday", these ladies love the Lord and always have words of encouragement.

In Him We are Complete!

Have A Blessed Lords Day!

Zephaniah 3:17 (New International Version)

17. The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing."

Isn't it encouraging to know that our Lord loves us! It blesses me so, because I know how unworthy I am. But to my Father in Heaven, I am special. I have to admit though, it is hard to imagine he takes delight in me. Me with all my baggage, and hangups, yet His Word is true, so I choose to believe what He tells me. I know this time of year is hard for some folks, and if you are one of them, I pray Gods peace and comfort for you. As we gather today in Church, let's remember the most important things in life and put Jesus first, after all nothing else will work right if we don't. God Bless you!

Staying Alert!

Nice Week Comments at dazzlejunction.com

1 Peter 5:9-11 (The Message)

8-11. Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You're not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It's the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won't last forever. It won't be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.

I hope your Sunday Services was life changing for you! The message of the hour and times we live in is to keep our focus on Jesus Christ! Always being aware of the enemy of our souls. A liar and deceiver always ready as this translation states to "pounce" on us when we are "napping". We must realize what is going on around us, this is why we go to Church! Hearing the true Word of God, not just a pretty sermon that tickles our ears, but the truth when it convicts our hearts. Of course the other reason is to be encouraged and pray for each other! We should always be holding our Christian sisters and brothers up in prayer. We can and should have peace in our hearts, right in the middle of our "out of control world." Read the scripture above and again and be comforted with the truth, it will set you free! God bless you as you begin your week!

Exodus 20:8 (New International Version)

8 "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.

We are told to remember this day by keeping it holy. Of course the first way a person might think is to be in the House of God, the other way is just to rest from all the trials and headaches we had during the week. Which ever way or both, it is a very special day. I love going to Church! I teach Sunday School, so that is my passion. Feeding on Gods Word is how we grow and mature as a Christian. From the singing to the alter call, we are blessed. I pray this Lords Day you will be in Church and reap from the storehouse that has your name on it. Oh, and don't forget to rest to!

We Must Pray!

Tuesday Comments at dazzlejunction.com

I Timothy 2:1-3 (The Message)
The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live.

First thing, without a second thought, we must pray! Pray for our family and friends, pray for our church, pray for our leaders. This is our command to pray! Why is it hard to pray? I believe you have to have a personal relationship with Jesus, a burning desire in your heart for Him, before you can pray with a passion. As we grow in His word and get to know Him as our Lord and Savior, then we will begin to hunger to spend time with Him in prayer. It will be a natural part of us just to come to Him praising and singing songs. Thanking Him for all He has done for us! Where would we be without Him, I for one do not even want to think about that! Have a Wonderful Tuesday and keep loving Jesus!
