Commandment for Us!

Deuteronomy 30:11-15 (The Message)

11-14. This commandment that I'm commanding you today isn't too much for you, it's not out of your reach. It's not on a high mountain—you don't have to get mountaineers to climb the peak and bring it down to your level and explain it before you can live it. And it's not across the ocean—you don't have to send sailors out to get it, bring it back, and then explain it before you can live it. No. The word is right here and now—as near as the tongue in your mouth, as near as the heart in your chest. Just do it!

15 Look at what I've done for you today: I've placed in front of you
Life and Good
Death and Evil.

Did you get the part that says "and then live it before you can explain it"? This is not to hard for us, God makes every provision for us then we make a decision. Just do it! it is not to hard, I love the Word of God! There are many times when I am overwhelmed with the love and provision that was made for us. There really is no excuse to not know what and how we are supposed to do. Now I also have to admit I was questioning God about some things and my daughter called to encourage me and give me these scriptures. Thank you sis for being obedient! We all need encouragement don't we? Read these scriptures again, I pray they will bless your heart as it did mine. Have a wonderful day and be safe!

We Have Hope!

Romans 15:4 (New International Version)

4. For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

Without hope what in the world does people do? How does a person handle all the things that are going on? I for one am so thankful that God has made a way for me and for you to. But we have to read Gods Word to find out what it says! It is not an option, it is necessary for growth. If reading is not easy for you, ask God to give you a hunger for His Word, and He will. Find a Bible that is easy to understand, I use the New International Version and the New Living Translation. Remember the Holy Spirit is our Teacher and He will open up the Word for us. I just want to encourage you as you begin your week to look to the Only One who can really help us, He is our Source! Blessings to you and your family!

Psalm 149 (New Living Translation)

13. You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
15. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
16. You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.

I hope this encourages you as it does me! We are not mistakes of nature, our life does count. God loves us so much, He knew you and me before we was born. This passage of scripture just blesses my heart! Sometimes it is overwhelming to even try to write about the goodness of God. He has done everything for us! Is life heartbreaking at times? Of course it is, it was never meant to be easy. We must remember we are never alone, our life matters, and God does have a plan for us. I pray you will be blessed as you begin your day! Please be encouraged and tell someone of the hope you have because of Jesus Christ!

Be Encouraged!

Romans 15:4 (New International Version)

4. For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.

EVERYTHING, not part of Gods Word, but everything! Being taught because of the hard things we go through in life, and the encouragement of the Word. All so that we might have hope. Hope that we do have a future and to know who is is in control, we even know who is the winner. The more you get into the Word, the more you will see Gods love and mercy for us. Restoration is so important for us to remember. It happened from the beginning of the Book to the end! Aren't you so thankful for being restored. This is what He did for us by sending His Son to take all our sins and carry them to the cross. Making a way for us to be saved, to be healed and to experience peace. Reading Gods Word is the only way we can know what He likes and doesn't like. Our Teacher, the Holy Spirit will open it up and minister to you and me. I pray you have a blessed week, don't forget to encourage someone and you be encouraged to as you study His Word.

Staying Alert!

1 Peter 5:9-11 (The Message)

8-11. Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You're not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It's the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won't last forever. It won't be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.

I hope your Sunday Services was life changing for you! The message of the hour and times we live in is to keep our focus on Jesus Christ! Always being aware of the enemy of our souls. A liar and deceiver always ready as this translation states to "pounce" on us when we are "napping". We must realize what is going on around us, this is why we go to Church! Hearing the true Word of God, not just a pretty sermon that tickles our ears, but the truth when it convicts our hearts. Of course the other reason is to be encouraged and pray for each other! We should always be holding our Christian sisters and brothers up in prayer. We can and should have peace in our hearts, right in the middle of our "out of control world." Read the scripture above and again and be comforted with the truth, it will set you free! God bless you as you begin your week!

Zephaniah 3:17 (New International Version)

17. The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."

Gods Word is filled with encouragement for us. His love is shown from Genesis to Revelation. Words that give us hope, and promises that are for us if we follow His will. In the times we live in, there is no other foundation to base hope on except Jesus. We must believe His Word if we are to live a victorious life. In this scripture we are told He is not only with us, He delights in us, His love gives us peace, and the part that is amazing to me is that He rejoices with singing over us. Yes that is right, singing! I just never thought about God singing! But then only because of His children would He have a reason to sing. Please be encouraged as to how much God really loves you, hide this into the deepest part of your heart and be encouraged.

Wisdom from God!

James 3:17-18 (The Message)

17-18. Real wisdom, God's wisdom, begins with a holy life and is characterized by getting along with others. It is gentle and reasonable, overflowing with mercy and blessings, not hot one day and cold the next, not two-faced. You can develop a healthy, robust community that lives right with God and enjoy its results only if you do the hard work of getting along with each other, treating each other with dignity and honor.

I wonder what it would be like if people treated each other with dignity and honor? Do you think there would be as much confusion and heartache if we just loved and accepted people as a creation of God? If we weren't so quick to judge, or even have an opinion, there would not be as much hurt and confusion! Until we learn who we are in Christ, we have a tendency to wear our feelings on our sleeve. Forever ready for someone to offend us so we can either justify the behavior we are used to or just let it beat us down where we feel we are worthless. In praying for wisdom God said He would unbraid it liberally, He will show us how to be gentle and caring for other people. They will see His love in us and know He is real! Everyone needs to be encouraged, everyone needs hope, and it is our job as Christians to make sure it is done. We are commanded to love God with all of our heart, soul and mind, and then to love our neighbor as our self. It is not a suggestion, it is a command. God will give us this love, and wisdom, and anything else we need in order to live a pleasing life for Him. As you begin your week, my prayer for you is that if you need encouragement, someone will be there for you, and also for you to encourage someone else to. Have a Blessed Week!

Don’t Worry, God is with You!

Proverbs 3:21-26

21-26 Dear friend, guard Clear Thinking and Common Sense with your life;
don't for a minute lose sight of them.
They'll keep your soul alive and well,
they'll keep you fit and attractive.
You'll travel safely,
   you'll neither tire nor trip.
You'll take afternoon naps without a worry,
   you'll enjoy a good night's sleep.
No need to panic over alarms or surprises,
or predictions that doomsday's just around the corner,
Because God will be right there with you;
he'll keep you safe and sound.

After you have read these scriptures a few times, just meditate on them!  Now, do you believe what God is telling you? Is it really possible this is true? I heard someone say they didn’t believe the Old Testament was relevant for today, and here was my question, what do you do with the scripture that “God is the same, yesterday, today and forever”?  Did He change His mind somewhere along the way? I’m sorry, but I have a real problem with that theory. I believe those promises are for us today, just as they were back then. Yes, there are things that changed, we no longer have to kill animals for the atonement for our sins. There is a better way, and only one way, and that is through Jesus Christ. When He did everything that was needed for us, He went to heaven and sat down by His Father. The Holy Spirit is here, in us!  Forever leading us, being our comforter, enabling us with His power so we can live a victorious life. Please don’t get hung up on preconceived ideas or customs you may have. All you have to do is ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth to you, get in the Word and began to search. He says you will find what you are looking for. Be encouraged today!

The Hand of the Lord!

Ezra 7:9-11 (New International Version)

9 He had begun his journey from Babylon on the first day of the first month, and he arrived in Jerusalem on the first day of the fifth month, for the gracious hand of his God was on him. 10 For Ezra had devoted himself to the study and observance of the Law of the LORD, and to teaching its decrees and laws in Israel.

Ezra was a gifted bible teacher that was on a mission to move Gods people forward. I love this story of this unheralded man of God. People knew and believed him, because of his life lived before them and his teaching. An amazing man who listened to God, the Word said "the gracious hand of God was on him". Ezra (his name means "help") knew God and believed what He told him. If you have the time to read about this man, you will be encouraged. What we forget sometimes is that Ezra, like many others in the Bible were men and women just like we are. It is encouraging to know that we can claim the same promises they did. Studying Gods Word and then applying these principles to our life is what this Christian walk is all about. The hand of God is also upon us when we do His will! Be encouraged and strengthened as you study this week.
Remember who you are in the Lord!
