No Favorites!

Acts 10:34-35 (The Message)

34-36 Peter fairly exploded with his good news: "It's God's own truth, nothing could be plainer: God plays no favorites! It makes no difference who you are or where you're from—if you want God and are ready to do as he says, the door is open. The Message he sent to the children of Israel—that through Jesus Christ everything is being put together again—well, he's doing it everywhere, among everyone.

Did you heart that? No favorites, God does not have any favorite kids! We are all precious in His eyes! Then why is there so much competition among believers about who is the best or the most favored? Well, that is the problem "the believers", this is where all the stuff comes from. Who can sing better, who is the best teacher, the list goes on and on. Why can't Christians be thankful for each other and lift each other up in prayer. I believe pride, arrogance, unforgiveness, you know all those fruits that we are not supposed to have on our tree are probably a hindrance. My prayer and desire for me and you is to follow as close to the Lord as we can, and this means showing love for our brothers and sisters in the Lord. Lets not be so hard on each other, but try to understand and show compassion. As this scripture says it makes no difference who we are or where we come from God is waiting on us to call on Him. Be blessed today!

Glory Around the Corner!

1 Peter 4:12,13 (The Message)

Glory Just Around the Corner

12-13. Friends, when life gets really difficult, don't jump to the conclusion that God isn't on the job. Instead, be glad that you are in the very thick of what Christ experienced. This is a spiritual refining process, with glory just around the corner.

Does life get difficult for you? It sure does at our house, seems like there is always something or someone that just tries my patience and tests my faith. So I began to notice when it bothers me the most! During the most difficult times is when I don't feel very well, other times was just having patience with people, but whatever is going on I just keep remembering that it is no surprise to God! I do believe that when I am doing the best I can do that He hears my prayers and the answer is on the way. I also believe He loves you and me and cares about even the small things that is going on. So please be encouraged and remember glory really is around the corner!

2Timothy 3:14-17

14-17. But don't let it faze you. Stick with what you learned and believed, sure of the integrity of your teachers—why, you took in the sacred Scriptures with your mother's milk! There's nothing like the written Word of God for showing you the way to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God's way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.

If we want to know how to live a pleasing life in Christ, we do not have to look far in the scriptures for instruction. The problem with some folks is that when they read it, they don't really believe. We are told here that "Every part of the Scripture is God breathed", "every" part. So what is our problem? I believe as we grow and learn more about Him, we develope confidence in the Word. Its just like the friends we have, it is only when we get to know them that a friendship is formed. Then we began to trust them! It is the same way with Jesus, it is only when we get to know Him that we have a relationship with Him. I pray for you today as you read this, that whatever needs you may have that you will just look to Jesus, take Him at His Word and really believe. Have a wonderful beginning of the week.

Expressing Your Heart!

Matthew 5:4 (The Message)

4. "You're blessed when you feel you've lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.

Where are the words that express to someone who has lost a loved one? Why is it so difficult to convey to that person how you feel? I have asked these questions and more this week as a dear friend of mine lost her husband! My heart truly ached for her and her family, but it just seemed like I didn't have the "right" things to say. Now this is ironic, because she and I take counseling classes together! So you think I should know, right? Well, I can't tell you how inadequate I felt as I tried to express my condolences to her. Maybe there is really not anything that helps at the time, after all we do have a time of mourning as the Bible tells us. Maybe just letting the person know we are there for them, and especially that we are praying is sufficient. I don't believe we should ever try to explain or say things like "well, it was just their time", or "they will be better off". I just don't believe this is appropriate, and sometimes we can actually hurt someone by trying to have all the answers. Only God knows and He is the One with the bigger plan that we cannot see. After all He is the only One who can really comfort and bring peace anyway! I love the scripture above, please read it one more time. Bless you, my friends, have a wonderful Saturday!
