Snow Storm and a Big Job!

Zephaniah 3:17 (New International Version)

17 The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing."

Because of the snow storm that moved in and left us with 7 inches of snow, we were housebound on this Lords Day. Actually since Thursday hubby and I have been home with lots of projects. When we bought our house a few years ago, the little woman before us loved wallpaper and it was everywhere. So we have been on a mission ever since to remove it. Oh my what a job! but we are getting there. At first it was proving to be a really big job and both of us were getting a little frustrated, but the Lord was teaching both of us patience. The thought came to me that we are supposed to take care of what God gives us. This changed the focus and we began just to "get it done". With some praise and worship music and three days later, we are well on our way of having things back in order. Whatever we do must be done unto the Lord, and it must be done in love. This is a choice we make, make it either better or harder! To know my God loves me and takes delight in me with rejoicing, well there is nothing more wonderful. As you tackle this week ahead, I pray for strength and encouragement to do His will. Be blessed my friends!

Being Thankful!

Psalm 100:4 (New International Version)

4. Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.

Have you ever just sat down and made a list of things we should be thankful for? In my class tonight, I asked the girls to name all the things they could think of and it was amazing, it sure didn't take long to get started! At first it was things they liked to do, and then we got serious. Of course the main thing I stressed to them was the gift of salvation, and what a sacrifice was made for each one of them. Children are so wonderful! You could see the wonderment in their expressions. Jesus certainly has a special place for them in His heart. It was a lot of fun, and very serious to. Maybe we "big" girls need to sit down every once in awhile and make a list of all the things we are thankful for. I am not sure I have enough paper in my house. God is so good to us! Does this mean we will never have any trouble or heartaches? Of course not. But I can reassure you of one thing, you will never go through anything by yourself! He will never leave us or forsake us and nothing can ever separate us from His love. How so thankful I am, and I am sure you are to, for the goodness and mercy of God. As we begin the countdown to Thanksgiving Day, lets make a list and remember to enter into the presence of God with praise on our lips and a heart full of love for our Wonderful Savior!

Praises to God!

Psalm 100:4-5 (New International Version)

4. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. 5. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Isn't it wonderful at times just to come to the Lord, not wanting anything, just coming to praise Him because of who He is and what He has done for you and me. I am overwhelmed with thankfulness at the mercy and goodness of God. Where would I be if not for Him? I don't even want to thank about it. Except for the grace of God, I would _____________. This is true for all of us, we really do know about being lost and hopeless. We remember our lives before Christ! Sometime just go to Him and praise Him, you will be blessed and He will be to. Remember how much He loves you and the sacrifice that was made for us!

Seeking God!

Psalm 13 (New International Version)
1 How long, O LORD ? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?

2 How long must I wrestle with my thoughts
and every day have sorrow in my heart?
How long will my enemy triumph over me?

3 Look on me and answer, O LORD my God.
Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death;

4 my enemy will say, "I have overcome him,"
and my foes will rejoice when I fall.

5 But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.

6 I will sing to the LORD,
for he has been good to me.

Sounds as though this could be written today. Our hearts cries are the same as David's. Problems and troubles so completely out our of our hands will bring us to our Savior, then we began to pray about all those things that weighs us down; next something miraculous happens in our spirit: praise comes forth as it should. There is something powerful that happens when we seek God and His will in our lives. In this world we live in we are truly being tested and tried on every side. Things are happening in my life time, that I have not experienced before. I have heard stories from members of my family of the great depression, wars, and poverty that was always present in certain areas of our country. Now I am seeing many things, but we have to be reminded daily of the promises of our Father. Yes, all these things will drive us to Him, just pray and ask Him to be in control of your life and what He wants you to do, then begin to praise Him for all He has done, next be assured the answer is on the way! As you study His word, your heart will be quieted and faith will arise.
